hawk
This guy has been terrorizing the neighborhood. But he is beautiful. We think it is a Cooper's Hawk.
cousins
So day 2 (or 3) of cold and frozen rivers .. we went to explore the seaport with cousins .. and had a great time. I don't know why we don't make it there more often .. so much to see and do. Making a resolve to get there more .. though with the kids starting class there next month .. I suppose that will do it!
watch rock
So so beautiful .. the light, the ice, the rocks, the marsh .. I could not stop taking pictures. I could have poked around here with my camera for ages .. but the kids were freezing (OK, so to look this frozen, it had to be very cold and there was a nasty bitter wind) so I had to rush them back to the car. But oh, what a gorgeous spot!
florence griswold museum
We went to the museum to see the Christmas trees and the exhibit on embroidery. Fun busy day. (Of course, since we were close by .. we HAD to stop at the book barn. :)
a performance
e wrote a story, which the kids then decided to perform. Hysterical. This was one of those great homeschooling moments .. when I am able to see that the space and time and creativity that the kids have is totally worth it.
